Coaching From the Other Side of the Table

Most PA career advice comes from people who succeeded once and turned it into a script. They got into school, landed a job, and now teach their path as if it were the path.
I offer something different: the evaluator’s view.
I’m Jeff Brown, PA-C, MBA. I’ve been a practicing physician associate (physician assistant) since 2012, and I’m the Director of Advanced Practice Providers at a health system. Recruiting, interviewing, contracting, and developing PAs is my day job. I’ve reviewed hundreds of applications and resumes and have hired and onboarded more than 40 PAs and NPs. When we work on your personal statement, your interview answers, or your contract, you’re getting the same lens that will be applied to you.
What Physician Associate Coaching Is
Physician Associate Coaching is a 1:1 coaching practice for pre-PAs and PAs at every career stage. There are no courses, cohorts, or recycled templates. Every engagement is virtual and built around your specific situation, and you’ll leave the first session with concrete next steps.
The work falls into three stages:
Getting into PA school. CASPA strategy, personal statement work, and interview prep from someone who reviews applications for a living. If you want the full application organized in one place, CASPA Command tracks every section, deadline, and essay for $59 per cycle.
Landing your first PA job. Resume review, interview prep, and offer evaluation from a Director who hires PAs. I know what makes a resume survive the first screen because I run the screen.
Growing your PA career. Contract negotiation, compensation strategy, wealth building, and the move into leadership, mapped by someone who made it. If you accept the first offer, you’ve already negotiated against yourself. The employer built room for a counter. My job is to make sure you know that going in.
How I Work
Every client starts with a free 30-minute consult. You tell me where you are and where you’re trying to get. I tell you exactly what I’d work on and whether coaching is worth your money. No obligation either way, and you’ll leave with concrete next steps regardless.
From there, personalized sessions are $150/hour, and coaching bundles discount that rate for defined goals, from the Landing the Job Bundle at $395 up to the Complete Career Growth Bundle at $1,495. You’ll see every price before you commit. There are no hidden fees, and I won’t sell you a package you don’t need.
One thing I won’t do is guarantee outcomes. Nobody can promise you an acceptance or a job offer, and anyone who does is selling something else. What I can promise is that your application, your interview, and your negotiation will be evaluated by someone who does this professionally, before the people who decide your outcome do it.
Grounded in the Profession
I stay current through the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) and the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and through the part of my job no newsletter can replace: sitting on the hiring side of the table every week.
